Going Down

This is a concept piece I did as the cover of the pitch package for my 4th yr film idea. The film is entitled "Going Down", and the idea was spawned by the grimy elevator in the building I lived in for the past two years. I would regularly see shady, suspicious looking characters while riding the elevator, and it occured to me that this would be the perfect, enclosed location to stage a short film. The story revolves around a seemingly sweet old lady who is really more then she appears. I am currently in the storybarding stage and will post my progress on this film as I get deeper into production. Looking forward to seeing this one through...I have so many ideas, it's just a mater of refining and distilling the storytelling aspect, and determining what is technically doable in the given time...If I can get the vision in my head to match what the audience will see on screen, Then we might have something here!

Hog Wild clips

This post is a little late, but the preceding clips are scenes I contributed to my group's 3rd year film from last year entitled "Hog Wild". I really appreciated the motivation and group unity we had from day one, and feel like we produced a solid, first short film. Hopefully we learned enough about multiple overlapping deadlines and how long compositing takes, and we can all produce the 4th year films we intend to make in the time constraints given. Good luck to Studio Horseplay and all the other groups! P.S. Please forgive the crappy quality of these clips, they are not properly compressed.

Backsplit character concepts

This past summer, I interned at a studio in Toronto called Backsplit Media. The above characters are part of a pitch package I designed for a 2d TV series called "In The Hole". The story revolves around a bunch of mischevious, would-be salesmen who spend their days on the golf course getting drunk instead of getting work done. All in all, it was a great experience to create the visual look of a series. It was a fun challenge to come up with varied character types that were distinct, yet still unified stylistically. I feel like I sharpened my design skills considerably, and hopefully, this will aid me in refining the designs for my upcoming fourth year film.

2008 LD's

This is a selection of some of my LD's from 2008.

The Dream Shatterer

video
This is the cleaned-up, colored and composited version of my action analysis animation. I realize there aren't too many outdoor courts in the projects with glass backboards, but it's a little harder to shatter steel now isn't it? All in all, I was fairly happy with the final product.

Throwdown!

These are the finished character designs from my action analysis project, and the final layout that the scene takes place in.

This is a piece I did for a lecture presentation on the
creation scene in Mary Shelley's Frankenstein.
